  8. Air refuel - CLOSED
  9. Fuel dump - OFF
  10. INT Tanks fwd/aft - NORMAL
  11. L/R ENGN Shutoff - OFF
  12. Throttles - OFF
  13. External lights - SET
  14. EXT PWR - NORM
  15. Parking brake - SET
  16. Landing/taxi switch - OFF
  17. Anti-skid switch - ON

ENGINE START (APU):

  2. Fire warning - TEST, HOLD (until test completed), RELEASE

  5. APU switch - ON (READY light within 30 seconds)
  6. RIGHT engine crank switch - ON and HOLD (up to ~30% rpm)
  7. All MFD's - ON

  6. Air refueling hatch, speed brake, launch bar, arresting hook, and pitot heat - CYCLE (Launch bar optional for shore based operations)
  7. OBOGS control switch - ON
  8. OXY flow knob - ON
  9. Fuel - CHECK
  10. Altimeter - SET
  11. Radar altimeter - ON
  12. Canopy - either full up or full down during taxi.

TAXI:
  1. Normal brakes - CHECK
  2. Nosewheel steering - CHECK

BEFORE TAKEOFF:
  1. Canopy - CLOSED
  2. Transponder - ON, SET
  3. Parking brake handle - FULL BRAKE
  4. Afterburner switches - VERIFY BOTH OFF (Guards DN)
  5. Engines - MIL CHECK
    N2 92 - 102%
    EGT 600 to 830°C
    Fuel flow 9000 - 12000 pph
    Afterburner indicator 0%
    Oil pressure (warm oil) 95 - 220 psi
  6. Throttles - BOTH IDLE
  7. Afterburner switches - BOTH ON (Guards UP)
  8. Afterburner check - LEFT ENGINE, FULL THROTTLE
    N2 98 - 102%
    EGT 600 to 830°C
    Afterburner indicator - 100%
    AB light - ON
  9. Left engine throttle - IDLE
  10. Afterburner check - REPEAT RIGHT ENGINE
  11. Right engine throttle - IDLE

TAKEOFF - MAXIMUM TAKEOFF WEIGHT:
  1. Yaw dumper green light - VERIFY ON
  2. Brakes - RELEASE
  3. Power - ADVANCE TO FULL AB (expect AB lights)
  4. At 130 knots - ROTATE to, and maintain 10 degrees nose UP
  5. Above 170 knots - DEPART (maintain 10 degrees nose up)
  6. AOA - BETWEEN THE LINES (constant tone, 10 degrees)
  7. When definitely airborne - GEARS UP 
  8. Power - FULL MIL at above  250 knots

TAKEOFF - LIGHTWEIGHT TAKEOFF:
  1. Brakes - RELEASE
  2. Power - ADVANCE TO FULL AB (expect AB lights)
  3. At 130 knots - ROTATE to, and maintain 10 degrees nose UP
  4. Expect rotation at ~150 knots.
  5. AOA - BETWEEN THE LINES (constant tone, 10 degrees)
  6. When definitely airborne - GEARS UP
  7. Power - FULL MIL

AFTER TAKEOFF:
  1. Afterburner switches - AS DESIRED
  2. FCS mode - AS DESIRED (norm/tactical for low altitude/navigation)

10,000 FEET:
  1. Cockpit altimeter - CHECK
  2. Fuel transfer - CHECK
  3. Radar altimeter low altitude warning setting - CHECK/SET

CRUISE CHECK:
  1. Cabin pressurization/temperature - MONITOR

DESCENT/PENETRATION:
  1. Engine anti-ice - AS DESIRED

LANDING CHECKLIST:
  1. Brakes - PUSH, RELEASE
  2. Gears - DOWN (within limits), 3 greens.
  3. Slats - VERIFY RETRACTED
  4. Afterburner switches - BOTH ON (Guards UP)
  5. FCS mode - EMERGENCY/DOGFIGHT
  6. Yaw dumper green light - ON
  7. Speed on normal final - 160-170 knots (AOA between the lines)
  8. Speed on short final - 160 knots (AOA between the lines)
  9. Recommended touchdown speed - 150 knots 
  10. DO NOT FLARE
  11. Drag chute - AS DESIRED
  12. Braking effort - AS DESIRED

AFTER LANDING:
When clear of active runway -
  1. Ejection seat - SAFE
  2. Trims - SET ALL 3 TO ZERO
  3. Canopy either full up or full down.

BEFORE ENGINE SHUTDOWN:
  1. Parking brake - SET
  2. Trims - SET ALL 3 TO ZERO
  3. Displays - OFF
  4. Exterior and interior lights - OFF
  5. OBOGS control switch - OFF
  6. OXY flow knob - OFF
  7. Canopy - OPEN

ENGINE SHUTDOWN:
  1. Brake gage - ABOVE 3,000 PSI
  2. Slats - EXTRACT
  3. Throttles - VERIFY IDLE
  4. ENGN Shutoff - LEFT ENGINE - OFF
  5. ENGN Shutoff - RIGHT ENGINE - OFF
  6. Bus tie - OFF
  7. Battery switch - VERIFY OFF
