Following recent developments in modern 5th-generation Stealth Fighters platforms like the F-35 and F-22, the VSKYLABS F-19 utilizes high-capacity,Low-Observable (LO) external drop tanks.

Unlike conventional/cylindrical high RCS (Radar Cross Section) drop-tanks seen in non-stealth fighters (such as the F-16, F-18, F-15), the Low-Observable tanks are engineered with stealth technology that includes unique geometry of faceted surfaces and special paint. These characteristics deflect radar energy and optimizes the stealth characteristics of the tanks.

Implementing the LO external fuel tanks in the VSKYLABS F-19 Stealth Fighter mirrors the recent advancement in LO external fuel tank concepts, developed for 5th-generation stealth platforms, where mission endurance is required without completely sacrificing the radar-signature benefits of the airframe.
